CSC - Otterbein University Concert Choir
The Concert Society of Coraopolis is excited to host Otterbein University Concert Choir on Saturday, March 4 at 7:00pm.
The Otterbein University Concert Choir will perform their spring break tour to Washington D.C. this March 3-9. Concert Performances by the choir will be hosted in Worthington, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; Cumberland, MD; Fredericksburg, VA; and Arlington, VA. The ensemble’s tour concert program, entitled “Earth, Sacred Treasure,” features the music of William Byrd, W. A. Mozart, Morten Lauridsen, Andrea Ramsey, Elaine Hagenberg, and Otterbein music faculty member Jennifer Bernard Merkowitz. All performances are free and open to the public. The Otterbein University Concert Choir is the most select of Otterbein University’s five vocal ensembles. The choir tours annually to destinations domestic or abroad, with recent itineraries including New Orleans, Germany, Savannah, Boston, and Ireland. The ensemble has been invited to perform at prominent locations abroad such as Nikolaikirche in Leipzig, St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin, Beijing Central Conservatory, Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna and St. Nicholas Church in Prague. Concert Choir performs frequently at conferences of the Ohio Music Education Association and American Choral Directors Association.
